Reports To: Senior Superintendent/Superintendent


Summary of Position: This person will be responsible for supporting the Superintendent and Senior Superintendent in all aspects of job planning, scheduling, safety and quality control, project documentation, subcontractor coordination, site logistics, and client relations. They will assist with managing field operations, maintaining project schedules, coordinating inspections and trade partners, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. This individual will also be responsible for developing and maintaining excellent relationships with owners, architects, agencies, subcontractors, and other Blach employees while supporting budget awareness, cost control, and labor productivity efforts.


Position Responsibilities

  • Fully comprehend plans, specifications, contract documents, contractual requirements, and trade scopes
  • Coordinate between design disciplines and identify constructability issues
  • Develop, review, update, track, and maintain project schedules and labor requirements using Primavera P6
  • Review and implement trade scope statements
  • Fully understand MEPF system functionality and how mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems integrate within the project
  • Fully comprehend, implement, and help manage site logistics plans, including access, staging, sequencing, and site constraints
  • Schedule and coordinate subcontractors, inspections, testing agencies, and required inspections with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs)
  • Verify and follow up on permit requirements and required inspections
  • Identify and resolve issues that affect schedule, safety, quality, or productivity
  • Manage safety software, track compliance, and oversee adherence to company and regulatory jobsite safety standards
  • Work with Safety Managers on all safety aspects of the project
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with established quality control program standards
  • Develop and implement site-specific QA/QC protocols to meet project requirements
  • Effectively co-lead and facilitate Foremen's meetings to align teams on schedule, safety, coordination, and priorities
  • Mentor Foremen, Project Engineers, interns, and junior field staff through coaching, feedback, and leadership support
  • Demonstrate strong client relations and maintain a professional interface with owners, architects, consultants, inspectors, and trade partners
  • Know and meet or exceed clients' expectations
  • Maintain appropriate jobsite conduct for Blach Construction and all trades
  • Manage project documentation including permits, drawings, reports, and daily journals
  • Review daily journals for accuracy and completeness
  • Maintain excellent relationships with owners, architects, agencies, subcontractors, and other Blach employees
  • Maintain an intermediate understanding of project financials, budget impacts, labor productivity, and cost control measures
  • Monitor labor utilization and material consumption
  • Review subcontractor billings with the Project Manager for verification
  • Review schedule and overall job progress on a monthly basis for cost analysis, including Blach materials
  • Demonstrate a basic understanding of project delivery methods and how they affect coordination and execution
  • Support self-perform work by identifying conflicts, facilitating coordination, and helping resolve field impacts between Blach crews, subcontractors, and project teams


Skills / Qualifications

  • 6–7 years of commercial construction experience with increasing field leadership responsibilities.
  • Union preferred
  • Strong understanding of construction means, methods, sequencing, and field operations.
  • Working knowledge of MEPF systems and building systems coordination.
  • Intermediate understanding of project financials and cost impacts.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong client service orientation and relationship-building skills.

 

Technical Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Intermediate proficiency in construction scheduling, including CPM (Critical Path Method) logic, sequencing, float, and schedule updates. Able to interpret and contribute to project schedules and communicate critical path impacts to the team
  • Experience with construction management software such as Procore, CMiC, Bluebeam, or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with safety management and project documentation software.
  • Ability to utilize technology to support project execution, communication, and reporting.

Position Status: Full-time, regular business hours, exempt


Salary Range: $165,000 - $190,000 Based on Union Pay Rate
